At Forest Creek Golf Club, every part of your golf experience is designed to be exceptional—and that includes the time you spend at the driving range. For many members, this space is more than just a place to hit a few warm-up shots before a round. It’s where swings are fine-tuned, confidence is built, and camaraderie grows.
Set against the backdrop of our beautiful Pinehurst golf courses and grounds, the driving range offers pristine turf, breathtaking views, and the same level of attention to detail you’ll find on the course itself. Even better, the range, short game areas, and putting greens are all within easy walking distance of the golf shop and the starting holes for both the North and South Courses. At most clubs in the area, golfers need to hop in a cart and drive to and from the practice facility. At Forest Creek, everything flows seamlessly together, making practice and warm-up a natural extension of your round.
If you’re like the average professional golfer, the driving range is practically your office, according to Golf Digest. But if you’re not a pro (yet!) rest assured—the Forest Creek driving range is built to accommodate every skill level and practice goal. Expansive hitting areas give you plenty of room to work on your game, while the natural beauty of the pines adds a sense of calm focus.
Strategically placed target greens replicate real on-course situations, allowing you to practice a variety of approach shots and yardages. High-quality turf conditions mirror what you’ll encounter on our fairways and greens, making every swing feel game-ready.
The range isn’t just for drivers and long irons. Dedicated areas for short game practice — including chipping greens, pitching zones, and a bunker practice area — help you sharpen the shots that can make the biggest difference in your score.
Just steps away, you’ll find putting greens maintained to the same standards as those on the course, perfect for honing speed control, reading breaks, and building confidence before you head out for a round.
When we renovated the driving range, we significantly expanded the practice space. This update created a dedicated area for private lessons, giving our Head Teaching Professional, Chris Shaw, and the rest of our PGA staff a secluded space to coach without distraction.
Whether you’re new to the game or a seasoned player looking to fine-tune your swing, this private section allows for focused, one-on-one instruction while the main range remains open for member practice.
The main driving range is often buzzing with energy, conversation, and camaraderie. But if you prefer a quieter, more focused practice session, Forest Creek also offers a private back range (perhaps a stronger name here like The Quiet Tee or The Player’s Range). Facing the main range, this secluded area gives you the option to work on your game in a more private, less social setting.
Forest Creek’s range isn’t just beautiful — it’s practical and well-equipped. Accurate yardage markers help you dial in distances, while high-quality practice balls ensure consistent feedback. For those seeking a more analytical approach, instructors incorporate launch monitor technology into lessons to provide instant swing data and measurable improvement.
And thanks to the range’s unique design, you’ll never have to worry about the sun being in your eyes during practice — a small detail that makes a big difference over time.
One of the advantages of being part of a private golf club in North Carolina is the ability to practice year-round. Our team maintains the driving range year-round, adjusting turf care and setup to keep it in excellent condition.
During tournament season, the range becomes a hub of excitement as members prepare for events, work through pre-round routines, and share in the competitive spirit. We host special clinics, junior golf programs, and group practice sessions, giving every member of the family a way to engage with the game.
While the driving range is an essential practice facility, it’s also a place to connect — with the game, with your swing, and with fellow members. Conversations flow between shots, members share tips, and friendships often begin on the practice tee.
For many, this sense of community is just as valuable as the skills they develop here. Whether you’re swapping stories with a playing partner, getting encouragement from a pro, or enjoying a quiet moment to yourself before teeing off, the range is an integral part of the Forest Creek experience.
At Forest Creek, every detail is intentional—from the way the range is laid out to how it’s maintained. Our course maintenance team ensures that the turf, targets, and practice areas reflect the same high standards as the golf course in Pinehurst itself.
This commitment to excellence means that when you practice here, you’re not just preparing for your next round — you’re experiencing a facility designed to help you play your best and enjoy every moment.
